As has been discussed before, generally the way the fat forms on your body cannot be influenced by what you eat, exercise, etc.

Carb rich foods in general (which is what rice IS) defintely helps you gain, but whether the fat is soft or hard is generally something out of your control.

Theres no real way to get fat very fast at all.
But stuffing on both carb and fat rich foods defintely helps.

Well, as Boochan stated, there's no way for you to form the fat in a certain way on your body. But rice is a carb food, so eating it certainly wouldn't hurt.

Carbs may or may not have something to do with soft/hard fat, along with (more importantly) where you form muscles. A while ago I had stealth-abs from going to the gym, and my stomach was very tough, but I haven't been in about three weeks and now my stomach is noticeably softer (along with my arms, I hate not being able to work out).

As me and others have mentioned in other threads.. you can do this if you want diabetes a few years down the track!
Believe me, Startch Based carbs do make you gain. I've reduced by carb intake to maybe a quarter, less of what it was when I am gaining.. and well, my metabolism is back and im dropping weight relatively steadily.
