Well obviously I have more than 1 favorite movie, but thinking about films from '03 to now, definitely "11:14". Pure gold. I reccomend it to anyone who enjoys a good, original story.

Oooh, Princess Mononoke. I love Miyazaki's movies.
Grave of the Fireflies made me cry.

Oh, there are so many. I'm with thornman about "11:14", which was a great exercise in intersecting storylines (though not as well-acted as "Crash") and Miyazaki movies (though "Howl's Moving Castle" was a tad slow).

But I'm gonna have to go with "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind," "Lost in Translation", and "Little Miss Sunshine." I realize that I'm breaking the singular favorite rule, but they're all recent movies and show a new direction filmmaking seems to be headed in. They're also definitely films everyone can appreciate, even though at times the former two can be a tad confusing.

And I just saw "The Prestige" and recommend that as well. Christopher Nolan is nuts and totally butchers linear stories, but he's brilliant. Tarantino also cannot be overlooked: "Grindhouse" should be waaay more popular than it is. And "Pulp Fiction" is unadulterated (seriously) awesome. K, I'm way over the limit.
