Dutch doesn't sound like English at all in my eyes, not even the slightest bit.
Well, I could be wrong because I speak Dutch myself.

Dutch comes closer to German and the Scandinavian (except Finland) languages.
And ofcourse, it's 99% similar to the northern half of Belgium, they only have a different accent.

By the way, only the first link is in Dutch.

Well of course Dutch wouldn't sound like anything else to someone who speaks Dutch... it does share some of the same linguistic roots as modern English and German though, so it's not that far off.

And yes of the links I posted, only the first is Dutch. The other three are Finnish.

I thought the same thing. A lot of [not all] Dutch words look like oddly-spelled English, but spoken it dosen't sound too similar to me. Norwegian and Swedish are kind of the opposite; a weird looking word in those languages might sound almost English when pronounced.

English is a weird language anyway. It's absorbed too much of other languages so it's no longer as Germanic-sounding as other languages and it almost seems like a mix of Old English and French. According to something I read, without the Latin influence, modern English would sound like a dialect of German.

Speaking of which, French is a weird language as well. It dosen't really sound like anything else, as far as other languages are concerned.

I feel bad for laughing at the Princess Di part. XD
I always though the best line was "And if Zippy drives my CD ROM, don't talk to my old grey foot."

The "original" made me laugh quite a bit! Your cover wasn't bad, either.
