Forum Activity, how to get back on track?

Hey all!

As winter is slowly creeping up on some of us here (like me), we start to stay inside more and more of the day, which ofcourse is a big plus for gaining.

Now, there's something I'd like to point out, like the activity we have around here these days. It just isn't good enough! Single post threads, short replies and no real discussions (good ones) at all.

If anyone as an idea on how to give this forum a injection with life, go ahead and post it here on in the suggestions thread.

I hope everyone will participate in making this forum full of life again;)

Well I am not sure there's much we can do, I think theres a lot of people here who just get the posts out so they can post/view pics or whatever, and then are done. But really, I think we'll see an increase in the number and quality of posts as winter comes because, as you say, everyone will be inside, and be very bored probably. And thats when forums get active, when everyone is too bored to do anything else :D:p

So true; we need a new injection to this site. I can remember a different "spark" several years ago. I have since fallen into the trench of short replies without discussions. For some reason, for me, at the end of a busy day I LOVE to SIT BACK and have my beer and RELAX TO THIS SITE. But it gets too easy to simply give short feed-back. I honestly have to admit that I'm out of "threads" to start. I love the enthusiasm of the new members. They're younger than we were. (Most of the originals dropped-out.) I think that the "new blood" (and new flab) here have enough enthusiasm where we can restore some of that original content. Can we put together a new gallery? ....start new contests? .... share menus or recipeis? ....Polls are always good as well. If enough of us respond to THIS THREAD we can BUILD something more than OUR GUTS. We can build a bigger fraternity.

Contests?

i think that contests (with prizes?) would definitely spark interest in the site,
with gainerweb seemingly far from completion, bigguts' fees and Beefy Frat's almost constant errors, the gainer community needs a social networking site!
more in depth profiles, chat, video chat and even possibly adult picture sharing would be sure to bring some life to the site

Well, we've had contests in the past, but only a small amount of members entered, and there wasn't much competition at all.

Same as with a chat, people begged for a chat, and once we finally put it up, nobody used it.

As for adult picture sharing, this website is mainly composed out of teen and underaged members, and we will try to keep it that way since there isn't a real place for them at the moment.

ABOVE ALL... Let's keep this site PURE. Pure, simple pleasure, as simple as eating, as simple as gaining, as pleasurable as sharing.

Well said doughboy :)

I totally agree, I'll try to start an interesting thread if I can think of one!

Opposition to the whole 'adult picture sharing' thing here as well. Fell free to do that on other sites or whatever, but this site should be more about bellies than full-frontal nudity.

As for prizes on the contests - nice idea, but where are the prizes going to come from?

Paltry responses don't surprise me too much.

It happens to every online community sooner or later.
Originally it's a group of guys of whatever interest who have lively
discussions opinionated responses and clever rebuttals.

Then as the guys start slowly getting whatever they are looking for,
or their interest in the group wanes, then the only people left is the
board ops who end up hosting for other board ops. It's been this way
going through its' cycles since the days of the BBS sad to say.

Then if it keeps going, spammers. adbots and scammers pollute it to death,
it falls apart, and everybody else online ignores it.

Proof:
The Gay-Disabled site on Gay-Universe.
More local-city bigmens' clubs than you can count.
Pick a personals site for big men. (singing to Joni Mitchell's [I/Big Yellow Taxi/I]
It's almost all pollution, and then they charge all the people 11.95 just to see it.
All the Bigmens' Magazines.
One guy bought one, scanned it and uploaded it to a free FTP site
so nobody would buy any and they all folded
only to join the pollution-ridden world of pay sites.
And then a few years goes by, it gets rediscovered by a new crew,
and the cycle starts again.
