I've noticed very few avatars being used here, they're the small pic next to your username.

You upload them via the UserCP (http://www.bigguts.com/forum/usercp.php?) link found at the top of each page, or you can go there directly from here...

the 80 by 80 pixel limit is terrible! I have a 100 by 100 that is only 2 kB, but apparently it's too large!

The old man finally figured out how to make an avatar. Once I figured out what to do, it was fairly easy. So now, I have one. (Isn't it amazing the things you can do sometimes when you can't sleep?) :o

What graphics program did you use there?

Went to a help site for making avatars, since I'm "graphically challenged".
Several people recommended a free download of a small little graphics editor called IRFANVIEW. It's very small, and very lean, but simple to use. I probably had this one done in less than 5 minutes, from install. (and that's amazing for me.) :eek: I'm gonna give it a try at things other than photos sometime today. I'll let you know what I experience.

don't have a digital camera or scanner to make a pic of myself :S so an avitar for me is out of the question....
