Anyone know of pro-athletes that have a gut, are overweight and totally out of shape? BTW, sumo wrestlers and NFL linemen don't count. Being fat is part of the deal for them. Everyone else though gets paid to be in shape and NOT have a gut.

This Mike Tyson snap shot is from way before his last fight so he was clearly still active then. Most of us would probalby be proud of a gut like that, but for a (wannabe) heavyweight champion it's a joke.

Ricky Williams' gut is much less obvious. The shot is from the 2000 SI swimsuit calendar (with stunningly beautyful model Kadra Ahmed-Omar). Back then he was one of the most athletic players in the NFL (and probably still is), so he sure had more than enough abs muscle to sport a ripped abs with a chissled 6-pack. Instead he seems to have several layers of fat on his belly to smooth things out.

I really like the shot because next to him Kadra is even more beautiful. Her body looks tall, slender, toned and very greaceful. Every part of her body seems refined and sculpured to the last detail. Ricky looks short, stocky, stout, his body kind of thick, almost chubby with crude and unrefined details. Think powerful dirt hauling truck next to a Ferrari.

Do you guys think Ricky's belly qualifies as a gut?

Anyone have more examples for overweight pro-athletes?

thanks guys. the football players are great, but most of them are linemen who have big guts by definition and none of those guys are pros.

really hope someone can come up with a relatively famous pro-athlete who got sloppy and started growing a gut - kind of like Iron Mike.

What about John Kruk formerly of the Philadelphia Phillies?

good one. it's amazing how out of shape some pro baseball players are and get away with it.

david ortiz here on the right has a little gut sticking out. his arms seem big, but not everything is muscle. lots of extra fat for a world series champion.
