Half the people on this site are incredibly boring.
Lurkers these days.
Talk more?

You don't know if they're boring or not. That's quite a statement to make.
I personally don't talk much here because there are so many minors on this forum and I don't feel like being involved in any sort of lawsuit over some sort of misinterpretation over something I could have said.

Try starting a topic you're interested in, you may be surprised that others share the same interests.

I'm not boring. It's just that there is not much to talk about on here. Like I hardly know but a small amount of people here. Some people don't even talk at all.

I think it's because there isn't much to say. The same thing happens on bellybuilders.
General posts are usually a question about gaining or an announcement about gaining. A question can bring up some convo, but an announcement(such as breaking a chair or outgrowing pants) is just going to be a bunch of congratulations posts. Even the questions don't really get that many responses unless someone got offended it seems.
Polls are interesting for like the first 3 pages, but it feels useless to actually post the choice I chose if it's on a late page. I know I don't go through 11 pages of faceless, nameless posts containing a one or two word answer.
Pictures are just for loads of congratulations and you're hot as hells. You could probably predict every post in there.
Stories and funnies could bring up some interesting-ness, but I don't normally look at those.
We need a gaining forum with full on sections for movies and games and all. A place where people can post freely about loving to be obese and also make a thread about some awesome movie they just saw and have other gainers be like "Dude srsly...this movie was awesome". I think with a forum like that, lurkers would have something to post about, and people could become friends based on a little more than hot pics.
I really like how this forum has a little profile. I haven't gotten a chance to see if people actually use it yet though.

He didn't imply that his opinion is more important than anyone elses. Please don't try to rile people up.

Far be it (for me) to want to rile guys!
Thing is, sometimes yah gotta use tactics to help FORCE THE FLOWERS TO COME OUT!
Anyeay, this type of forum clearly helps enhance inter-personal expression.
Some guys simply don't express themselves very well. Some won't take the time. They may not like "talking" about themselves, etc. Indeed, they are not use to, or want, more "intimate exchanges"-- the sorts some may prefer in fact. Still-- "to each his own..." will not give anyone a clearer PICTURE,
now will it?
Even too many "WOW factors" can "cloud" meaning-- that is, if clear emphasis is wanted in the first place.

I think a lot of people have stopped posting, the forum has gone through more popular times...
Frankly the whole invasion we had a bit back of the body building forum members probably did not help activity either

Can you enlarge on what you mean by this?
What sort of "body building" are you meaning? "invasion" ???
A --forum-- is what happens, what people make it, but I don't feel it needs any "tags" as to whether or not it may be seen as popular. WHY?

People here are *not* boring. If you are seeing a lack of discussions about certain subjects, start some threads. If you like certain videogames--start some threads about it. If you want to start some political threads to see where people's political spectrums are--post some threads about it.
This forum, to my knowledge, is primarily designed to discuss Big Guts, gaining weight, enjoying being fat, enjoying others who are fat, and things related to fat people in general. Once most subjects revolving around that are already discussed, there's not much to debate about without a lot of preaching to the choir so-to-speak, and then what's the point?
There's a place I go to that is primarily focused on beards and facial hair. There are a LOT of people who go there, but not much discussion happens there either, and when it gets political, sometimes it gets ugly.
The forums that have the most posts on them are also usually the most drama-filled as well. Do we want drama here or do we like it the way it is?
As I said in my first response, one of the things that is slightly-off-putting is how many minors there are here. Besides my paranoia about people misinterpreting things, I have NO idea what I have in common with people so young. This isn't to say that having young people on the forum is a bad thing--I think it's VERY cool that people at younger ages are figuring out that they don't want to fit society's mold.

Well honestly, this forum has so many young people because most of the other gainer related forums are primarily older men, I dont think I would be off in saying the majority of posters are teens or on the younger side... Not saying older members are negative, far from it (Im looking at you mods:) ), it is just the reason so many young people post here rather than say Bellybuilders, is because of the forum demographics. And changing those demographics, I think, would be bad.
And Diagonal could use a bit more tact perhaps, but he IS right to a degree... most people who post here are not interested in discussion most of the time unless it is related to fat. Not saying that it is bad or good, it just seems to be the fact of the matter. However its easy enough to contact somebody and talk about all you want outside the forums, so its really up to the people that want to talk to seek it out.
