So at the school district that i live in, it's our superintendents job to give the call for 2 hour delay's and snow days.

this year has been a record breaking year w/ 2 snow days! usually we never get snow days. Thus the student body has made some great rumors of why we don't.

1. the superintendent is from alaska
2 she owns a hummer and if she can get out of her driveway she's in the clear
3. She owns Siberian Huskies, and if it's too cold for them, then school gets cancelled.

Any one else have some funny rumors or stories revolving around snow days?

you'd be surprised Indiana weather is quite bi-polar... just 2 weeks ago we had -5 w/ -30 windchills...and last week it was a pleasant 40-50, and now its 17 degree's outside and close to a foot of snow!

That must be Southern/central Indiana weather, because up here in Northern Indiana we haven't seen temps about 40 in weeks. And we have tons of snow! Also, in my four years in high school, we had two days off, one was due to flooding, and the other was due to snow, and if it hadn't been a half day, we would have probably just had a delayed start.

bummer... my favorite reason for missing school was b/c of fog..

a fog day! fog was so bad that the busses couldn't pull out
