Here is my official forecast for winter 2008-2009. If a La Nina or El Nino develops I will tweak it a bit...
Temperatures:

Enjoy! :)
Ps. I don't know how many of you here think man causes global warming but I'm here to say that it isn't so....Global Temps. are dropping....I can post some evidence if you like.

Hey, someone else interested in meteorology. :D

Global warming is resulting in the average global temperature rising.
This might result in the temp of one location increasing by an average of 2 degrees celsius, or dropping by 2 degrees celsius. It all depends. Either way, in the next decade or so, when the earth heats up even more, things are going to start dying. Like the polar bears. They're finished.
And by saying that man isn't causing it (which isn't exactly what you said, I know), is ignorance on a level I can not even fathom, since there is a plethora of evidence showing a direct link between our carbon output, and global temps. Which are rising... not dropping...

any actual true green person knows, that the correct term is Climate Change....
Where some parts will experience a warming, and some will experience a cooling..
There is also a theory called global dimming... where solid pollutants, silt, and other toxins, usually related to acid rain, cause a build up of cloud materials, blocking the sun. This first came around the science scene during 9-11. In America flights were grounded, and with the absence of the pollution of the planes, the temperature range for the following 3 days, raised by 1 degree celsius.
Also global evaporation rates have changed. Farmers for thousands of years, as early as ancient egyptian, have been keeping track of the evaporation of water. Recently water does not evaporate as fast as it used too, and many parts of the world is experiencing less direct sunlight. I don't remember the numbers, and too lazy to find them.. but its an intersting point to look into.
Also warmer weather has been known to alter wind, and current patterns, increassing both el nino and la nina
Why i know all of this...I took AP Environmental and got a 4!! yeah me!! and i also ahve an environmental radio show

I am loving the in-put here. However, I haven't done all of my research and just want to state that your comments are making sense to me.

Yes, the average global temperature is dropping:

When the global temperature anomalies come out for July I will update it.
Ps. I would also like to add that the issue of the cause of global warming or climate change is split 50/50 while the majority say that humans cause warming the skeptics are catching up. I'm sure you heard that 31,000+ scientist from the Oregon Institute don't think man is causing warming and over half of the 57,000 scientist from the APS (American Physical Society) don't think man is causing global warming. In the mean time the sun has no sunspots at the moment which has been proven to cool the earth and the PDO is in a cool phase which has been proven to drive the earths average temperatures in a downward trend.....I could put up more proof if you want but I probably wont....I'll put it this way if scientist 100% prove that Co2 drives higher temps then I'll say that I was wrong...BUT...if they never completely prove it and the avg. global temperature continues its downward spiral then I will continue to mock Al Gore and James Hansen for their ignorant alarmist ways.

If your being serious then your welcome! :) My dad is right about the way people like Al Gore and the media are....He says that they treat us like mushrooms..."They keep us in the dark and feed us crap". It's true. The media, Al Gore, James Hansen and others will only tell you the half of the story that fits the Climate Change agenda (They keep us in the dark) and most people will believe anything (They feed us crap).

Sounds republican enough...
I don't know what there is to talk about. Global temps are rising... There is no ****ing discussion. It's a fact of life.

Clearly, average global temperatures are dropping :/

hey i was just reciting what i was taught, and what some scientist believe in, global dimming. Lets not make this a disscusion on what the media does or what not. I put my input as a known theory in the scientific community. Not to be judged if media is corrupt or not.
what i believe
~yes to alternative fuels
~No to bio diesels based on corn, sugarcane, or other food based fuel
~yes to bio diesel used from micro algea, that requires pesticides and no herbicides, plus no replanting...will always come back
~yes to a smaller impact, using less, recycling and more
~yes to native plants
many people believe they are helping by planting tree's and landscaping, but many don't know that the majority are plants that are not native to the area, requiring more water.
~reusing water.....
Water from a dehumidfer can be used to water plants. People who have fish tanks and siphon the water out can also water plants with that. Highly nutrious for our plants.
Use of "gray" water, using the water from sinks, washermachines, dishwasher, and shower, to use the toilet
ALSO!!
Al Gore, deserves some credit for bringing light to this situation. But he is not the best person, b/c i know he is a hypocrite. His house uses somewhat like 3x the amount of energy an average american uses.

I figured with winter being close I would dig this back up! :D Winter still looks decent for the east coast and parts of the mid-west...December into early Jan. looks like the snowiest period. Just in time for Christmas! :D

Last year, I took environmental science in high school, and there were like 14 kids in the class. So for the final, we had to do an oral report with a visual aide. We randomly chose topics from a hat, and at first I drew water pollution, however, I got someone to trade with me for global warming. For my project, I did a power point about the myths of Global Warming. In the begining, I had a series of pictures of things like the earth on fire, and polar bears, set to the song, "Eve of Destruction", and near the end, we talked about Al Gore, and I had the song, I don't remember the name, but it goes something like this
"If you want it, here it is, come and get it, you better hurry cause it's going fast..." play while talking about how Al Gore is the founder, and part owner of a company that sells carbon credits, the same company that he buys his carbon credits from, so of course he buys them, he's basically buying them from himself.
Needless to say, the whole class loved the project, and the teacher gave me an A on it.
