So my high school's Prom is tonight. @.@ I havn't decided whether or not I should be excited about it or whether I should dred all of the preparation and formality.
It IS a bit of a shocker though. *_* One of those "Wow, this is the last time I'm going to experience this" feelings.

My school's prom is this coming Saturday, and I don't really think it's a big deal. Sure there's the people at school who spend tons of money and time preparing, but I just go for fun. You should be excited about it, just for high school memories, and don't think too much or go overboard on the small stuff :). For it won't matter years from now.

That was pretty much my opinion on the whole thing. My school had them for the two last years of high school, and I went to one (since I dropped out after that first year), and it was great, for that purpose.

Hehe, so after two days of hardcore sleeping, Prom's now gone and over. :P All in all, I think I have to agree with Boo-chan and Oboeplayer. It was fun, and while two of my dining companionswere of the aformentioned "everything must be perfect" type, my date and I had a good time, overall, I think. xD
The one thing that could have possibly made it more enjoyable was if the dj could have played less rap music. :p But i today's society, I went in knowing that it was pretty much a given that every song was going to be Rap.

I enjoyed my prom, but overall I enjoyed the last six months of high school more than any time in my life to that point, so it came with that. I had only learned how to enjoy things, you see. Because I was so fortunate as to be dating a girl at another school at the time, I had two proms to go to. Both were equally bad in music selection, mine was better for me knowing and talking to people.
I have been asking myself recently, how much do I miss high school? My life has changed considerably since, and not exclusively for the better.

I agree with Happen. but for me prom was okay but the last 6 months were the most memorable because you all just seem to bond because you are all in the same position ie: (what the heck do I do from here)

I enjoyed all the proms (I went to 4) I went to. As long as your among friends you're sure to have fun. The cost of renting a tux is insane but I thought it was worth it.

If you went to four proms it might have been worth it to buy the tux... I went to two and bought mine, and thought I'd have it to use for years to come, but alas, it no longer fits...
