I'm in ceramics. IT IS THE MOST REDONKULOUS CLASS EVAR. I'm working on the Potter's Wheel. THAT THING IS GOING TO MAKE ME KILL MYSELF. Seriously, if you hear in the news that some kid killed himself because of the potter's wheel, it will most likely be me. It's not that the class is super hard, it's just that I have no patients, so it doesn't really work out for me. :(

GEOMETRY SUCKS TOO. But that's because my teacher is pregg0rz and is being a total hormonal bizzach. :(

Lol. Yeah, I know how you feel. My classes, in particular, my English kinda make me wanna die as well. It's difficult, forming solid college level papers as an eleventh grader, but hey, life's tough.

I am sure that if you focus on putting your emotion into your pieces, you'll reap huge amounts of success. Strong frustration usually yields an artist's strongest works, that's what I believe anyhow... ^_^

I get frustrated in algebra because I don't have a redundant-numbers kind of mind. Geometry, I love; sometimes for fun I even solve cosine puzzles, but algebra, what a bitch. Econ is just boring. In film class, I'm working with a guy who would rather go to the park so we could film him walking on the jungle gym or something, and two other ok people. My other classes are fine.

ALGEBRAAAA.

My driver's ed teacher was a prick. He grabbed the wheel, he grabbed your arm, he would slam on the breaks on his side. He even gave me a nervous breakdown. He claimed he understood why I wasn't able to get driving practice. One car was totalled, the hours my parents work. He was a horrible teacher.

I got frustrated in calculus and dropped the stupid class.

The teacher was one of those smart people who couldn't explain anything in layman's terms. I'm smart, but math isn't my forte at all.

qft...

My classes this year suck... they are too easy =/

Normally, you couldn't complain about easy classes, but I just get straight up bored in 5 out of 7 of my classes this year... While I value my education, I am not going to school to be retaught information that is still fresh in my brain -_-

Anyone have a clue what the hell "qft" means?....

And as for the problems you had with your 'Drivers Ed' teacher Toddle, surely you just ditch him and get another one? I mean surely if you don't get on you just go with another driving instructor?

Icarus, I've graduated. I'm going to be getting a private driving teacher that teaches many students that had that driver. Besides, he was the only driver's ed teacher in the entire school. Hard to believe but true.

Ok, maybe we need to clear some international differences up here.

I'm guessing things work differently over here, so here's how it works here:

You choose to start driving, at any point in your life after the age of 17. You then choose who you want to learn to drive with. Some people buy a cheap car and learn with their parents, others learn in their parents car, but the upmost common way of doing it is paying a driving school or driving instructor to teach you, usually in one or two hour lessons.

These driving schools are companies completely seperate from the educational system and are private companys that make money in their own independant right, like any other company. Driving instructors are 'sole traders' as such and work as an individual running their own business, often using their own car too.

Lessons cost anywhere from £18 up to £28 per hour depending on the company or your location I guess (mine were £21/hour a year or so back).

You then pay to take your theory test (computer based) and, when your ready, your pratical test (driving around, obviously).

Is that the same or different to how it is in the USA, because I've always figured it has something to do with the educational system or something.

It comes close to the Dutch version of learning how to drive.

We can start at the age of 18, though we can only learn how to drive from a certified driving school. Each lesson costs about $45,- and you could need up to 30 lessons untill you are good enough to take your driving exam.

We also need theory lessons, to learn the signs and traffic rules, that too comes with an exam you can take at any time during the course. Some people only take 1 lesson, some take 10 lessons.

The theory exam costs about $40, and the lessons for that cost around $30.

A normal person usually doesn't pass the exams for the first time, so it will costs up to $2000,- untill someone finally can drive a car.

(all prices are more or less converted:p )

Somewhat different. First off, the age varies by state. Second, the school usually has a driver's education course that you have to pay for. You're free to not take it and pay a private tutor though. In my old state, New York, permit was 16, license was 17. Down here in Florida, it's a year earlier. Permit is 15, driver's license is 16. Up in new york, drivers ed was much more expensive. Down here it was 30 dollars. I did the 30 dollar route with the prick of a driver's ed teacher. Now I'm going to use a private tutor that about 1/3 of the students who had the driver's ed teacher I had use afterwards. Does that say anything about how poor a driving teacher this dude was? The only good part was that he was licensed to administer the road test.

in jersey you get your permit at 16 and at our school the class is included in the school and it's mandatory but the actual class doesnt cost any money. after you pass the class though, you have to accumulate 6 hours with a driving instructor and that does cost money - about $200 - now that can be done through the school or privately. after you get your permit you can get a provisional license at 17 as long as you've had your permit for 6 months by taking a road test. the provisional license allows you to drive without any parental supervision but you're not allowed to have more than one non-family member in the car at one time and you're not allowed to drive past midnight. then once you've had your provisional license for a full year you can turn it in for a full license at 18 without having to take any additional tests. and then thats about it
