I do, although I prefer TV shows like Eureka, 24, Prison Break etc.
Here in Australia, we have to wait for months and months before they're screened.
So, who else does?

Stuff that isn't available on DVD here (e.g South Park) or stuff that, like with Guts is very laggy to air here.

I subscribe to video podcasts (using Miro). Some of them are quite good quality akin to what you'd get on TV, and all free and legal. I get a few of the BBC ones, a few technology type ones and Channel 4's FourDocs, among others. Does that count?

Yes, that counts because you're downloading them :)
Illegally? Funny thing that - if they going to show it on 'free to air' TV, why is it illegal to see it earlier?
There's a show called Invasion (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0460651/) which one of the TV channels purchased and was supposed to be shown last year, they still haven't, so I've already seen the whole series before they get off their lazy backsides and decide to screen it :)

Personally I find actual broadcast TV to be a complete waste of time, on account of all the adverts, the having to stick to a specific viewing schedule and the fact that practically everything they show is complete rubbish (even the news is dumbed-down and mind-numbingly repetitive, for pity's sake). I certainly wouldn't have subscription TV, which is basically just paying through your nose to increase the problem hundredfold.
I don't like the way the new technology is going with its built-in DRM nonsense either. I figure I'm just going to boycott the whole thing and get my entertainment elsewhere before Rupert Murdoch comes along and strangles me. No, I'm not paranoid. Why ever would you think that? By the way, if anyone wants a tin foil hat, I'm selling them for 50 pence each. There's plenty to go around.

I watch a lot of TV shows online, but after Google bought youtube it's getting harder and harder, and daily motion seems to be taking more action too :(
I've never been succesfull downloading a movie, but Limewire sucks, and Video podcasts are pretty cool/Legal

I like to download shows and movies from the net for the good quality and lack of commercials (I still usually buy the ones that I like :P).

Yes, if I download a movie and like it, I generally go and buy the DVD to watch it in better quality, and for all the extra bits they put on it.

I download a lot of music, but I have never downloaded anything like shows or movies. I don't usually have time during the tv season to watch the shows I'd like to (grey's anatomy, desperate housewives,...) so dvd boxed sets deifnitely come in handy.
