Ive just read an article about beer en beerbellys
It seems beer doenst help you get a beerbelly but its the things that go with beer, ill try to explain coz the article is in Dutch. :p

If you drink beer a lot, or too much people often develop beerbellys, they THINK its because of the beer but hat just isnt true.
If you drink beer, you get hungry and start to eat, and because you dont feel as much as you did before you drank, you wont actually feel your full. your body will make you eat fatty food. But! if you got alcohol in your body and a lot of fat food inside, it will first break down the alcohol and it will store the fat somewhere else  . Thats why everyone thinks you get a belly by drinking beer. ;)

I hope i explained it good enough :)

I agree in part, especially about the eating after some beers however, I know if I don't have a beer for a week, I de-bloat, if that's a correct term :)

I can't believe you did all that research but for the good of getting a gut then I guess it was worth it.

I agree. I dring just a few beers in the evenings. Then I feel hungry. I eat far more than I would without the beer. I have to agree that it's the food. I have to add as well, that I drink and eat just before going to bed. Eating immediately before bed-time definately promotes a pot belly.

The beer also expands the belly so you can pack in alot more food. A great combination anyway you look at it! How sweet it is!

MGD for me. Real smooth when it goes down. It's a little on the light side, meaning it doesn't weigh you down, there for you tend to drink more and refreshing as all hell! Everything you want from a beer.

I don't think you would want to drink that much if you wanted to grow a gut in the first place. You'll end up puking up a storm behind the sofa of your living room and end up on square one. :(

big fat kiddo is right beer doesn't give you a beer belly. My dad drinks a lot of beer and only weighs 170lbs. However, his liver is badly polluted. Another however is that my dad excerises a lot and being that he thinks I am not gaining anymore I need excerise so I been making excuses to keep him and me from excerising. He hasn't excerised in about a month and now weighs 195lbs. Since he gained this he is keeping my gain a serect from my mom.

I have just had three pints of lunch in one of my favourite pubs. My belly feels nice and comfortable and, as it was British real ale, there is no gas, just satisfaction. A typical pint contains 200 calories so some of the strong European beers will have more. The net effect of today is that I am now very hungry and will get myself some [solid] lunch as soon as this has been posted. Bolognese sauce with rice, strawberries and cream and maybe something else - yum!
